Spotlight on QBD Kawana

We have some serious readers at Kawana QBD! The team have shared what they are reading with us this week- including some awesome pictures from their recent book extravaganza.

9781743317211Leaving time by Jodi Picoult: Jodi Picoult is back!  Leaving Time touches the heart, mind and soul.  As soon as I finished it I had to read it again.  I was blown away by the mega twist – how did I miss all the signs? One of her best- Jan (Store Manager)

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King: Written in true Stephen King style:  dark, fragmented and creepy.  This is a refreshing take on fantasy and I loved the entire series.  Each book just gets better! – Teila

9780330508537The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams: It’s an ordinary Thursday until Arthur’s house is demolished, followed shortly by the entire Earth!   This book is absolutely brilliant.  It’s hilarious, imaginative and like nothing you’ve ever read before.  One of my favourites books ever – Abbey

The Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines: This series is seriously sexy and lots of fun!   A great weekend or holiday read.  I fell in love with the characters and loved all their dramas and romantic entanglements – Crystal

zoellaGirl Online by Zoe Sugg (aka blogger Zoella): Penny is a clutzy accident prone teenager who feels she can only truly be herself in her online blog.   When she meets the gorgeous Noah her world unravels. Girl online is a fun, feel-good read that had me laughing and left me smiling – Hannah

Lion of Macedon by David Gemmell: A thrilling and addictive read.  It takes a fictional twist on Parmenion, one of the most distinguished generals of Alexander the Great.  Filled with action, romance, adventure, Spartans and Greek Mythology, this book is a journey into mystical realms and leaves you wanting more – Morgan

9781407130224Northern Lights (#1 in the His Dark Materials series) by Philip Pullman: Adapted into the the film The Golden Compass, this book had me hooked from the start.  Superbly written with great characters and set in an alternative universe.  This book is a fantastic read for any young adult or adult reader looking for something action packed and meaningful. – Jordan

The Left Hand of God series by Paul Hoffman: The sanctuary of the redeemers is no sanctuary and no redemption is to be found there.  Boys from far and wide are stolen and brought to this dark school to be trained as assassins, if they survive.   A wickedly exciting must read series for any fantasy addict.  Maddie
