Oh my gosh, you guys, can we please take a minute to discuss Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead? I was so excited for this book that I devoured it in two hours (which may have included walking home and reading at the same time), and it is so worth it. The only regret I have is that it isn’t longer (Richelle, please hear my plea- can you take some lessons from JK Rowling and make your next book the size of an average brick? Great, thanks).
The book picks up a little after The Fiery Heart left off, with Adrian moody and brooding (and who can really blame him?) and drowning his sorrows in the vices he previously gave up for Sydney. Sydney, meanwhile, is trapped at the Alchemists’ every whim, needing to deal with the physical and mental tortures they throw at her, in combination with the betrayal of the sister she loves.
Like all of Richelle’s books, Silver Shadows is a mixture of suspense, anticipation, and is filled with hundreds of moments that make your heart ache for Sydney and Adrian. Trust me though – it is oh-so-worth it for the amazing ending.
Perfect for fans of the Bloodlines and Vampire Aacademy series alike, the book is full of cameos from fan favourite characters such as Dimitri, Rose, Lissa and Christian – and a few others which pop in just to make Adrian and Sydney’s lives a little more interesting (and complicated)! This is definitely one of those books that you just want to read again as soon as you’ve finished it.
