QBD Reviews: The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Bloomsbury have added this beautiful edition of The Song of Achilles to their Modern Classics list this month!

We all know the story of the hero Achilles, named greatest of the Greeks at Troy, who was brought low by the infamous weakness in his heel – or we think we do. Madeline Miller revisits this timeless story with fresh eyes, with a focus on Achilles greatest friend and lover, Patroclus. The story develops the romance between the two, showing how they overcome all obsticles until at last fate itself has to intervene to tear them apart. By turns funny, beautiful and utterly heartbreaking, this book held me captivated until the very last, soul-wrenching page.
