After bawling my eyes out at the ending of Me Before You, I really had no idea what to expect from a follow up to one of the very best books I’ve read in a long time.

There is no denying that Moyes is a quality writer and can always be relied upon for a good read, her plethora of fiction writing awards can attest to this, yet I still find myself in two minds about this book. This is due mainly to the fact that I was so in love with Will Trainor that I found it difficult to watch Lou moving on.

There is SO MUCH drama in the story line of After You that at times it was a little stifling, but then that trademark Lou Clark unyielding love shone through and saved the day. I’m not a teary person but parts of this story effected me almost as much as Me Before You did and it is another book I’ll keep with me for a long time, for the sheer humanity of the story and the fact that it managed to weave its way into my heart and nestle in and make me feel all the feelings.

If you like continually crying your eyes out while you read, the Jojo will not disappoint, but if you really love a well crafted story that’ll make you feel more human than you ever have before, Jojo will absolutely delight.
