Your Lie in April follows a young piano player who has lost the ability to hear the piano’s tune. On the way from school one day, he runs into a enthusiastic and energetic violinist who continuously asks him to play as her accompanist. A beautiful tale of friendship and a bittersweet tale of love, Your Lie in April is just as melodic as the music that it mentions.
This series was an interesting find. The art work compliments the story well, going from unrealistic looks of pointy teeth and hair on end to melodic and beautiful pages when the music starts playing. This was a heartwarming tale, a hopeful tale and, while it is hard to admit, the only work of manga to bring me to tears. A beautiful romance told with musical gift, this is a must read for everyone.
