We are delighted to share this sneak peak recipe from the Air Fryer Express Cookbook, by George Georgievski!
Sink your teeth into these delicious pastry snacks without the mess of deep-frying.
– INGREDIENTS –
16 cevapi
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon salt flakes
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 sheets of frozen puff pasty, just thawed
1 egg lightly beaten
100 g ajvar
– METHOD-
Place the cevapi in a baking dish that will fit in your air fryer, then drizzle over the olive oil and sprinkle with the salt and garlic powder. Using tongs, move the cevapi around so they are coated in the mixture, then transfer the dish to your air fryer and cook on 180°C for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, cut each puff pastry sheet into quarters, then cut each quarter in half. You should end up with sixteen rectangles in total. Remove the cevapi from the air fryer and allow them to cool a little – they will release moisture and this will prevent the puff pastry from getting soggy.
Place one cevapi on top of each pastry rectangle. Roll them up to encase the cevapi in pastry, then tuck in the ends to secure. Brush the rolls with the beaten egg, then pop them back in the baking dish in the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Once the cevapi rolls are ready, transfer to a wooden board. Pop the ajvar in a small bowl or ramekin and serve alongside the rools. Enjoy!
