Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence:

If you love dark stories and corrupt characters then The Prince Of Thorns by Mark Lawrence is right up your gritty alley. Filled with pillaging and violence, this story follows a teenage boy and his band of road brothers as they go on a hunt for revenge, and for some, to sate their blood lust. Even though I can’t recommend this book highly enough with its incredible writing and fascinating characters you can’t help but cheer for, this isn’t a read for the faint-hearted. Prepare yourself to delve into the mind of a boy who has been twisted by death and the truly horrifying events that take place right before his eyes. This is fantasy at it’s darkest. – Chelsea, QBD Purchasing Department

Mythos by Stephen Fry:

No one does tragedy, triumph, comedy, seduction and betrayal quite like the Greek Gods. These myths and tales have inspired and influenced us in modern and ancient times alike. With iconic imagery of beauty, deception, trickery, rage and cunning, the stories of the primal pantheon of Gods and Goddesses are sure to keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. Stephen Fry retells and re imagines the classic misadventures with typical Fry style, injecting his own wit, wisdom and historical accounts of the people of the time. Like a bolt from the hand of Zeus, once you start this book, you will crackle through the pages with anticipation of what will come next. – Lewis, QBD Online Store

The Family Next Door by Sally Hepworth:

Sally Hepworth is by far my favourite author. Her upcoming anticipicated release The Family Next Door, that is due at the end of this month, is incredible. It is filled with lies and deceit and reveals shocking secrets. I particularly love that you can never pick the ending of Sally’s books, you think you know what is going to happen but it turns around into something you never expect.
I wondered if I could love this novel as much as I loved her first one- The Secrets of Midwives and I did!
I highly recommend any of Sally’s books, she doesn’t disappoint. – Haylee, QBD Online Store

Artemis by Andy Weir:

Despite being very different from Weir’s first book, The Martian, I loved Artemis. Full of wise-cracking humour, it features a kick-butt female lead and it’s set on the Moon!
Jazz, a lunar porter and part time smuggler, is given an opportunity she can’t resist – to earn a lot of money by blowing a few things up. It sounds too good to be true, and it is, with plans going awry and Jazz having a very close encounter with death.
I found Jazz completely relatable and I really hope she features in more books! She’s flawed; she makes bad choices and deals with them the best way she knows how – shortcuts! (which often land her in more trouble). It definitely makes for an exciting adventure.
If you are looking for a science fiction novel that is just plain fun to read, you can’t go past this book. – Shannon, QBD Marketing Department

You Do You by Sarah Knight:

This book is all about accepting your strengths and flaws and I can honestly say this book motivated me to be myself with a much healthier attitude. Not only is this book motivating, but it will give you a laugh too. This book will encourage you to improve on yourself without changing who you are. The author describes her life situations and how she dealt with it.
Only YOU will decide your pathway and journey on how you proceed life after reading this book.
Throughout the book the author will speak her mind and encourage you how to be yourself, but by putting your self first in everyday living.
If you are in need for motivation or just for a good laugh? This book is the one for you! – Brianna, QBD Online Store

The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart by Holly Ringland:

We’ve already seen so many amazing new Australian authors publish books this year and this is the one I’m most excited for!
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is due for release on the 19th of March and will feature as QBD’s April Book Of The Month.
This is such a beautiful and bittersweet novel that pulled me in so completely with its characters, tragedies and vivid landscapes.
I absolutely loved it! – Kate, QBD Purchasing Department

Rebel Of The Sands by Alwyn Hamilton:

“The world makes things for each place. Fish for the sea, Rocs for the mountain skies, and girls with sun in their skin and perfect aim for a desert that doesn’t let weakness live.”

Amani Al-Hiza is a daughter of the desert. In Dustwalk, a dead-end town in the middle of nowhere, folk are intolerant of the poor, orphaned, and female – and unfortunately Amani is all three. She longs for escape – and the chance presents itself when a foreigner with no name and a traitor’s smile blows like a sandstorm through Dustwalk, sweeping Amani up with him on a thrilling race through the desert.

But the desert is full of danger and magic, and the foreigner is not what he seems. Amani gets way more than she bargained for as she’s swept up in a fiery rebellion… and the truth about her own heritage is revealed.

Rebel of the Sands is a highly original, enjoyable beginning to what I think will be a cracking series. It’s big fun, and has all the hallmarks of an excellent fantasy novel – danger, magic, intrigue, and a little romance. Amani is a fierce, whip-smart, and tough – fans of Sarah J Maas or Victoria Aveyard will enjoy her ability to cut down her foes with either a well-aimed bullet or a sarcastic remark. Pick it up if you enjoyed desert-themed fantasies like The Golem And The Djinni or City of Brass. – Sarah, QBD Purchasing Department
