Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has opened to rave reviews!Â
(which bodes well for all us muggles waiting to read the playscript!)
The Guardian described it as “a dazzling duel of light and dark”, while The Independent hailed it as “a magical experience tailor made for the stage, filled to the brim with fan service”.
The Telegraph, The Independent, and The Evening Standard revealed glowing, five star reviews, with four and three quarters from The Times, and four stars from The Guardian.
According to reviews, magic tricks take centre stage for the first half of the play, with “thrill a minute stage craft” (The Guardian) and highlights including a moment where the stage is submerged underwater!
New characters from the next generation of our favourite wizarding trio – the Potters and the Granger-Weasleys, lend “a breath of fresh air”, according to The Independent. The reviewer Jack Shepherd also singled out Scorpio Malfoy as the play’s “standout character”.
“For the legions of Pottermaniacs eager to be reunited with the characters they adore, this will be a magical experience.” (The Evening Standard)
The playscript is available from 9:01am AEST , 31st July 2016
