Spotlight on QBD Epping

Our Epping Team have shared their epic reading choices with us this week

– including a great photo with ‘Lady Love’ Sylvia Day at her recent book signing!

zooofchinaThe Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly: Fast paced, plenty of action, typical of Matthew Reilly – but with a storyline I didn’t expect. Well researched, with a strong female lead that you would want with you in a street fight. Fantastic ! I didn’t want the book to finish. – Peter (Store Manager)

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner:  Travel the scorch in the dystopian world that is the sequel to The Maze Runner. Now the teens know they’re a part of an experiment to find the cure for ‘The Flare’, a virus that has inhabited the earth. Alongside Thomas and the other gladers, the reader demands answers from WICKED, the agency behind it all. – Carla (2IC)

dark placesDark Places by Gillian Flynn: By the author of Gone Girl this is one of those books that once started, is impossible to put down! Libby Day’s brother is in prison for the murder of his family because of her testimony as a six year old. But is he really the guilty one? – Daniela

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow by Sophia Loren: Discover the wonderful, yet surprisingly difficult life of Sophia Loren as she works to leave her mark on the show business world! Reading this makes me want to visit all of the places, and watch all of the movies that she mentions. I am yet to read a celebrity biography that has me hooked like this one. – Jacqueline

9781471115035Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire: At first glance, this book sounds like your typical, cliched, young-adult romance. But I found it was so much more and enthralled my mind from the first page. Travis and Abby aren’t your conventional romance-novel characters and their love story is far from simple. Beware of this book, because it will become your next addiction. – Ashleigh

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover: Every word that Colleen Hoover writes demands to be read. It’s one of those novels that you can’t put down and have to keep reading throughout the night. Hopeless leaves you terrified yet captivated and leaves you feeling like you’re a a part of the love story that unfolds. – Chantelle

veronica marsVeronica Mars: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham: Listen up marshmallows, if you thought you’d seen the end of our favourite perky blonde detective, you thought wrong. Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars continues the outrageous life of Veronica set right after the end of the Veronica Mars movie. All the unanswered questions from the hit TV show and movie finally get addressed. – Adriana

Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews: The four Dresden Dolls locked in the attic, but for how long? This isn’t your typical story line. Flowers in the attic is the first of the five novel series. With enough plot twists to keep you coming back for more, this novel is a must read! – Antonietta

ameliaReconstructing Amelia by Kimberley McCreight: McCreight’s debut novel which is a heartbreaking tale of a woman who will do whatever it takes to get to the truth of a loved one’s supposed suicide. Reconstructing Amelia is a book about friendship, romance, love between parent and child and forging your own identity. It is also a book about the dangers of keeping secrets and the need to feel that you fit in. A thrilling novel that will hook you from start to finish. – Nilda

Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon: I first read this book 12 years ago and I still re-read it every year. A love story full of action and adventure across time. Gabaldon is a truly gifted story teller that captures the beauty and brutality of 1743 Scotland. – Danielle
